She walks alone. Isolated. She is at school. People look at her everyday, but they do not see her. They look right past. No one tries to get to know her. No one tries to talk to her. She knows no one.
She is a stranger to them and it seems she will forever be. She is a stranger in her own world, her own life. For once in her life, all she wants is to be noticed.
She sees a boy she likes. For the first time he does not just look at her, he sees her. He sees what she could be. He sees what she will be. He didn’t see her before, but somehow he does now.
He wants her. He longs for her to be with him. This is different for her. No one has ever felt this way for her before.
They are together for a few nights. He realizes his feelings are just lie. But she knows the truth. She knows that he never had the feelings. He lied to her all along. But, she needed that attention. She didn’t want to be alone. She wanted people to notice her.
They did, for a while. But then it stopped. Now, months later, they notice her again. But her life has changed. Since that first night she was with him. She will never be the same.
People notice her now. Now, because she is pregnant. But she stays in school. She still needs the attention. No one saw her before. Now they see her. They wonder. They wonder where she’s been. They wonder who she’s seen.
As for him, they don’t see him. They look, but they don’t see. He is no longer a part of them. They know what he did to her.
You have written words of great and mature wisdom in this poem, and I applaud you for it!
