One Day at a Time

Copyright 2/2/04

If you knew there was no tomorrow,

Would that relieve the worries of today,

That your next day would have no sorrow,

Would your mind be free to play?

Tomorrow’s worries just forget,

They will take care of themselves,

Take today’s worries that must be met

Leaving tomorrow’s on the shelf.

Take life one day at a time,

Let tomorrow’s worries be

Work today’s worries in kind,

If tomorrow never comes,

Those worries you won’t see.

If you knew there was no tomorrow,

That there was only today,

Would you let go your sorrow,

And let your mind play?

Author's Notes/Comments:

Too often we take today for granted and spend it worrying about tomorrow. Today, generally, is enough to worry about.
