Pieces of a Tragedy

Pieces of a tragedy marked out on the road,

Black stain where her blood flowed.

The speeding car flipping end over end,

No seatbelt worn, our story begins.

Partying until nearly dawn,

She staggers to her car

Forgets to put her seat belt on.

None tried to stop her as she drove away,

She wasn’t prepared to see her last day.

Driving at a high rate of speed,

Her alcohol demon her judgement did impede.

Faster and faster the road she did burn,

But in her state didn’t see the turn.

Now, only her outline marks where she lay,

A black stain where her life drained away.

The pieces of a tragedy to often seen

Through tears of an alcohol dream.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Alcohol kills and friends who allow friends to drive drunk...well...'nuff said.
