When I was a child you taught me the right from wrong
When I was cold you keep me warm beneath your arms 
And when I couldn't sleep at night 
You held me save and tight 
You held my hand thru the end 
Y'all my parents but also my best friends 

You show abounded love to me 
Mom and dad you are my inspiration 
Y'all taught me how to be free 
Y'all taught me how to spread my wings 
Y'all are the fire inside of me

I'll scream it loud 
I'll say it proud 
I'm bless to have y'all around 
You pick me up 
When I'm down and hit the ground 
Y'all  watch my steps and hear my sounds

mom and dad I want you to see
The great person you taught me to be 
And in my heart I trust and believe 
Y'all will always be next to me 

And in the darkest hour and the darkest day 
Y'all shine my path and show me the way
I thank y'all for everything y'all did 
For all the things that got me here 
Mom and dad you inspire me
In becoming a  better person in life
overcome obstacles and and how to survive
I want you to know the truth 
I wouldn't be anything without you

Because your love is all that I need
