Of course he would call for peace. He would call for it the same way Adolf Hitler asked Neville Chamberlain for peace at Munich. And once the conference is over, and the disarmament has begun, the peace-wishers will march right in, like Poland in 1939, and take over. This peace wishing, of which we here so much of on postpoems lately, is too much like certain historical precedents---one thinks of Lenin in Russia, offering peace during WWI, and Hitler in Germany in the 30's---their peace-wishing was a stratagem that concealed a far more insidious motive.
