It was an old behavior

co-dependence

desperate love

neediness

a look to others

to make me feel

whole

But I didn't feel whole

I felt alone

even when deep in it

even when co-dependent

I suppose I have accepted alone

to some degree

for no matter what, I'll die that way

We all do, right?

We travel that path alone

just as we do this one

Just as we traveled through birth alone

even though we landed into the arms of someone...

that first touch

our first addiction

no...

the breath is the first addiction

the need to breathe supersedes

from birth to death, it's what we need

but that touch, oh, that glorious touch...

we crave...

Thing is, even when we are with others

we are still truly alone

for no one else can hear our thoughts

that we keep deep within ourselves

So it's easy to feel lonely

but it's not necessary

there will always be someone to relate with

if we just take charge, and share our hearts

with each other

I've learned that my own heart is the one

The one I need to have relations with

for if I neglect her, all falls apart

She is my best friend

She is the one who forgives

she is the one who heals

if I just allow her to

We are having a conversation now

and she is telling me I've neglected her

she's crying to me for love

so I'm gonna give it to her

For I know what happens when I do

I know how it feels

and it's warm...

like a hug
