two sisters walking to school
young care free happy go lucky
not one care in this world
and that is the way it should be
two sisters walking along
until they come to where they must split up
each going their seperate ways
the older making it to school
no problems arising along her path
sadly enough not the same for her baby sister
only eight years old walking alone
a man lurks behind on a bicycle
moments later he pulls up
engages her in conversation
what this must have felt like
an adult taking time to talk 'to' her
after some idle talk he leads her into the woods
what came next should never happen to our children
"Another Child Attacked" the leading story on the news
seems that after leading this young girl into the woods
he forced himself on her with such violence
that poor baby had to have emergency surgery
another soul forever scared by such a careless individual
may God bless this little girl and may this sort of crime stop
it just has to be stopped children should never have to deal with this pain
aww. that's so sad...but it's moving in the same...
I like your poem.

Renee', that breaks my heart. It is so hard to be a mother because every child becomes your child. You are so caring.
Dear Renee, Hi! This is so emotionally touching. I have two nieces. One is eleven and the other thirteen. If any person touched them in that way I would kill them. I have no regards for the sick people that prey on our children. They have no regard for these innocent young children. I think we should cut off... Hope I am not saying too much. Well written. Thanks for sharing. Love Truffels
Hi Renee This was such a sad piece. I thought of my three children as I read through. How can anyone ever do anything like this to innocent children is beyond me! It touched my heart and soul deeply. Thanks for sharing. Roz :)
The content is so horrific, but true. Clear and well-written, painting a portrait of two sisters. However, at the end I felt you switched to prose and your opinion. Let us come to our own conclusions! I'm sure they'll be the same as yours, okay?
Mostly~ the news saddens me,well put L&P
This is such a real & frightening fact, especially with children. they are so vulnerable. Amy
