words of acid building
in the recesses of my throat
I can so feel them pushing
they want to come spewing out
words of acid burnt into my mind
things you can never take back
you might not have ment them
but they hurt me just the same
words of acid left hanging
in air you can cut with a knife
who will come out on top I ask
the one with the blood actions show
words of acid I try to keep in check
but sometimes they come out anyway
never felling to bite as they go
you know.... biting me in the ass
I hate these words of acid
they make me feel like shit
but if they don't get said
they will fester under my tounge
so beware these words of acid
that might make you think me cold
but hell I was never ment to be a mother
what you see is what you get
Great poem. It's intense and packs a punch. Your words are whips of acid spraying me in my eyes as I read it, but I can't back away when I'm engrossed your prison of poetic writing. Great job.
Once a word is spoken, a team of four horse cannot retake it. (chinese proverb) But a poem can reclaim it... I know of no one that is free from the "word of acid"
Acid words, like acid rain. Fall far more than they should. We've seen enough of hurt and pain. Some kindness would be good. For all the lovely growing things. Like you, and me, and trees This is the song the poet sings. In hopes that someone sees Love will reign darlin, you'll see I liked your work.Do more Love Patrick
Hey! i am back! I posted a new poem, so please check it out and let me know what you think of it!! I should have read this poem a LONG time ago! I got to catch up on all of the wonderful poems you have been posting!
Very strong words for one with a tongue used only for injury to others. There is a lesson to be learned in here from all of us. Amy
Gentle is the night♥
Hmmm....no comment, huh? LOL...I think I can figure this one out....you would make a wonderful mother - that is most definitely NOT the problem here. And there comes a time when, no matter how hard you bite the ol' tongue, you can't stop the words. That doesn't make you a bad person...in fact, it proves you are a loving, caring person. Kris
Hi Renee I think I am suffering from this at the moment... sometimes I have what you call "Foot in mouth" disease.. and dont always think before I say what is on my mind.. and as usual always regret it later on... I loved the title of this.. does the poem great justice. Roz :)
HEY~ I use to surpress and keep stuff inside for what i thought was peace and was for everyone but ME,now POW i shoot from the hip and everyone knows to expect the sometimes harsh truth ~ after a while looking people in the eye saying whats on your heart really helps both,SEE this is why i dont teak everyone two fingers can't take it LOL- L&P
Oh-boy! I have a pretty good idea of what this one is about. It has to kill you to keep quiet all of the time. And, you do live there, too. I'll tell you what my favorite thing to say in this situation is. Respect is something that from me you earn. If I get a bit angry or indignant with my words, it would only be because I was disrespected first. See where I am going with this? I am not justifying hateful or bitter words. By no means. But, there EVERYONE has a line. Maybe taking a moment to better compose your choice of words may help? I am also a firm believer in not keeping shit in. Get it out as it happens. I kept quiet for too many years about something that so terrible. Since then, I speak up when I don't think something is quite right. Just some of my thoughts on thsi subject, Renee' Keep writing for sure!
