Hi Renee I think it would have been so cool to live in that era. Those seem to be the days where there was not as much to stress about as now in our days. Great read. Roz :)

This poem really got me to thinking! The pioneer's I think had the better life though in many ways! No TV meant more family time, no (phone, auto, gas/electric, etc) meant no bills to pay, no pollution/smog, home grown food for eating and many other things along this line! Everyone in those days were mostly happy and content with what they were! Friendships were strong bonded! Ah, for the good ole days! I love this one!
Well, that was a very nice insight into life in the past. As a child caught between the old & the new, I can still even remember pumps instead of taps in the kitchen & oh, yes, outhouses, as well. Nice one! Amy

Since I've never even been camping I seriously doubt I could cut it as a pioneer's wife unless I didn't know what I was missing in the TV, radio, computer, telephone, etc. Though from what I've seen of the Amish that live near Fort Wayne, there is a real sense of community and helping one's neighbor that is so missing in today's society. Maybe a blend of today's technology, the Amish sense of community, and the Native American's respect and know-how of nature could be found and turned into Utopia; I'd sign up for that in a second.
It makes us thankful, doesn't it.Don't think I'd cope.Your poem makes one appreciate our advantages.
Smile.. it is the cheapest facelift.
