Straight from Santa Cruz, just two dudes,
playing their music, changing the moods.
I loved each and every song they sang,
had to have a CD so we could hear the whole she-bang.
They sang about Aunt Lucy a 3 million year old hominid,
and like them I have to thank her for what she did.
For with out her we might not have all the afterthoughts,
and my god what would I do with out the shoes store bought.
Baseball Game is not what you would think,
it is all about just how we can go in just a blink.
So when you think things are stacked against you,
back up and knock one way out in the sky so blue.
3 Words made me think of things in my past,
the stalker that I am finally free from at last.
Just could not tell me when we were a couple way back then,
now he lives with that each and everyday, sometimes you just can't win.
But I have to say that my favorite was about a dog,
that lives in a one room house, this had a nice dialogue.
Was just the funniest thing I have heard in a while,
I tell you these boys have a real cool style.
But the song that got to me, was the very last song.
They sang it acappella, it was so sad, don't get me wrong.
It was a great thing to end the show with, sold us on a CD,
they signed with no problem, they are talented I know you would agree.
To end the show with a song about Vietnam, that was a tear jerker,
sent to fight a war still not understood. And do we still remember?
A Wall of names is all that is left of this horrible thing,
in my mind I will hear this song, the sounds of war will ring.
Hi Renee Well these guys must have talent, for you to be able to write so freely about it... great read! Roz :)
Renee, Again this one was very good. I liked how you worked their songs into your poem. I will listen for them. Kris
