Demise

No reason to prolong the inevitable demise

It’s time to walk away and reveal your disguise

For I know not the slightest of what dooms in your heart

The blossoming dream withers, unravels apart

You blew out the candle, the only flicker of glim

My life would so quickly turn to darkness so grim

You light it once more, a radiant fire

You breathe nourishment with intensity while capturing my desire

The poetry you recite, not written for me I would find,

It was simply for you, for your glory, you merely staged it as mine

Just as you staged your gestures of thoughtfulness

You took it so far

You molded it above and beyond everything that you are

It impressed you to captivate me with such fairytale flare

Who was that prince charming?

Because the genuine you could never compare

You’re a farce; you’re a fake, a pathological liar, a life changing mistake

The greatest of all was your covenant to me

Broken only by death, and death of this relationship it will be

Your covenant was a commitment of lies and deceit

A promise to make, not a promise come true

The promise to take, the only love that I knew
