You Make and Break Me

You make me a picture.

You turn me into beautiful designs.

You print on me.

You color me.

You fold me.

You make me something happy and joyous.

You change me.

You make me someone new.

You recycle me.

We learn to co-exist.

You give me life.

You don’t see what you are to me.

You practice on me.

You learn through me.

You talk to me.

You depend on me.

You need me to get through it all.

You don’t see what I am to you.

You poke at me.

You cut me up.

You rip me.

You don’t like me the way I am.

You think I’m ugly.

You use me.

You crumple me up.

You stomp on me.

You shred me.

You take my life away.

You don’t see what you do to me.

I am a leaf of paper, a simple sheet you don’t take time to think of.
