I wish I would have met you when you were 16
I wish that I was the one you first fell in love with
I wish there never was any bullshit in between and that all of what we had been through was just us
I know this seems stupid because life needs its ups and downs to make us stronger, what we have become today
All of the relationships that we have struggled through that led us down the road that is just a one-way
You are the person that has made me whole
Even if there are days that we don't see eye to eye
I just wish that I would have found you a long time ago
Being your first love, not standing in line
I wish that I would have met you when you were 16
clear of new ideas, with the thought of love and trust
I'm just glad I met you when I finally did before someone else could have stolen away my one and only chance for happiness
yeah, i think about that all the time. what it would be like if i had just met the person of my dreams right off the bat, and didnt have to go through all of those other people just to get there. how easy it would be to just skip all the bullshit. but then again.. this way, you learn what you do and dont want in a person. and you can experience and share, and learn from those other people. its a nice idea to think about though. to just make the right connection FIRST - - that lasts forever. great poem. nice sentiment.
