Welcome to the land of the free and the home of the brave
One hypocrisy under god
Where the free are still slaves
Confined by the chains of greed and political deadlock
No way to help the middle class?
Tell me why I'm not shocked
No taxes for the wealthy, no help for the poor
Send the troops overseas just to glorify the gore
How many lives does it cost for a barrel of oil?
How many bombs do we drop to stop this turmoil?
The american dream is now a nightmare
Our rights are seen as optional
And waived without a care
Lady Liberty shakes her head when she sees Capitol Hill
Compromise is non-existent and me and you foot the bill
Our economy is in collapse
Like the World Trade
Our way of life is the building
And Congress is the plane
Welcome to the land of the free and the home of the brave
One hypocrisy under god
The founding fathers turn in their graves.
This is America
Where dreams come true
But where greeds true colors are red, white, and blue
Lobbyists yells drown out the cries of the single mothers sorrow
Make money for todaywho gives a fuck about tomorrow
Because you see the future for our children is one of poverty and shame
Parents fight through the pain but it's all in vain
The streets envelop the kids with promises of fame
By pimpin, hustlin drugs or reppin a gang
And the government just looks the other way
There's no help for the parents
So who's really to blame?
Thank you. ..............
Thank you.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."
"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
