The works of the righteous, and
The wise are in the hands of God.
People know neither love nor hatred
By everything they see before them.
All things come alike to all.
One thing happens to
The righteous and the wicked.
To the clean and the unclean;
As is the good, so is the sinner.
The hearts of men are full of evil,
There is madness in their hearts
While they live; after that,
They go to the dead.
To all the living, there is hope.
The living know they will die,
But the dead know nothing;
They are no longer rewarded.
The dead are forgotten,
Their love and their hatred;
Even their envy perished.
They will never have a portion
In any thing done under the sun.
