Scarf in the Western Sky

Folder:
Nature/Environment

Softly you rise and spread like scarf in the west,

Lining across the sky with rainbow marbles and bands,

Each stream of petalled rays flows with glowing strands,

Slowly descends into oblivion of even rest.

Unique palette of colours display above the western sky,

Designed by nature in various forms and styles,

This spectacular and enthralling view appears behind the clouds,

Set in the fields, hills, mountains, plains and seas, its throne so proud.

The scarf of sunset sweetly brings down a dreamy shrine

To the earth where people reflects their day that shines

Their hopes, their dreams, their wishes known

To the beauteous deity of the splendour crowned.

Sunset, oh sunset, life merits your mystery divine.

You seal the storm; you conceal the dewy rain.

Thunder and lightning bow out to your royal rein

Letting your beams prevail in the clouds with pious lines.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Author’s Note: The sunset I have seen in every facet of places I have had been. I just cannot name the awesome colours unless perhaps I will write a lengthy story about this spectacular time of our day: tangerine, crimson, scarlet, red clay or ochre, royal purple, russet, rosy pink, ferric blue, copper, cobalt, ozone blue, ocean green, leathery brown etc…. This poem is exquisitely made, and merits repeated reading not only for its beauty, but for the meaning of each and every word.

Scarf in the Western Sky

Thank you op.cit. This is my first comeback, so I find this comment very much a welcome surprise. :)
