I loved you and I was filled with dreams
Dreams so grand they magnified life
And breathed a very breath all its own.
Then you pushed away never to come back
Heart broken, dreams became fantasy
And took up more space than reality.
So I found a man with no dreams
And I married him, settled down
Never to dream again.
Passionless and bone-weary I live,
Though while living I am dead
Having lost the thing that truly mattered.
However I found that when in slumber
I dream of you, and while dreaming Iām alive.
Yes, when dreaming of you I live!
Then eyelids flutter open in morning,
And I realize where I am, a place without love,
A place where dreams die,
A mockery in comparison to what we had,
And could have grown to have,
And I die yet again.
