Hard to face the facts,
Hard to let it all go
The pride, the tears
I'd rather let them flow.
But to have a conscience seared
Become a conscience cleared,
A sinful heart become as white as snow
Is to become closer to who You are
And know more of what You know.
Out of the overflow of the heart,
The mouth speaks.
My heart is heavy,
It leaks.
In words, in poetry, my case I bring,
O my heart is heavy, I cannot sing.
But not just words, not words alone
A contrite spirit, my soul groans,
Lead me home, Father,
You said You'd be my guide.
You desire faithfulness as a jealous lover,
In You, O Lord, I abide.
Draw me to You, closer and closer, so I may never part.
You know my every thought. O Lord, You know my heart.
This brings to mind the song "Just A Closer Walk With Thee"
The daily walk is sometimes so hard. I am a Christion but sometimes as all of us let the world get in the way. This was very beautiful and I am sure your words were heard on high. ~Lesa~
