For the kind words you've spoken

For the things you've helped me see.



I thank you for being who you are,

So wonderful, so patient,

I feel we have come so far.



I thank you for not changing into someone else

When other people are around.

For dragging me out of the self-pity in which I would have drowned.



I thank you for each letter, each phone call

For sweet conversations that go past the surface

For trying to understand me at all.



I thank you for every honest word you've said

They've made me trust you.

Thank you for every phone call that's got me out of bed.



Thank you for every hug, every smile,

For being the one I can talk to

For being the one to share each trial.



Thank you for talking to me about God,

For helping me learn how to find the truth,

For giving more of an answer than a nod.



Thank you for everything you've done,

For each and every laugh,

Those I would never take back

For listening when I'm mad

And comforting me when I'm sad,

Thank you for being my hun.
