LEFTY,LEFTY,LEFTY.
CRIED THE TAUNTING VOICES.
JUST CHILDREN PLAYING A GAME.
ONWARDS HE WALKED ,UNFALTERING.
DEAF TO THE CRUEL NICKNAME.
EMPTY SLEEVE FLAPPING ,
HE TURNED THE CORNER,
AS THEY CONTINUED TO JEER.
IT WAS NOT PRIDE, NOR PITY.
WHICH CAUSED HIM NOT TO HEAR .
LONG AGO HE WAS AS THEY,
YOUNG ,FIT AND HEALTHY,
COMPLETE IN EVERY WAY.
FIGHTING FIT ,TO BE PRECISE .
THE ELITE, GOD’S CHOSEN FEW.
NOW ALL THEY SEE,
IS AN OLD ONE ARMED CRIPPLE.
GIRO JOE THE THURSDAY MAN.
DAMAGED EX - GOVERNMENT STOCK.
I am young, and honestly before this new war i didnt understand, why neone would join or want to fight in a war. I learned that lesson the hard way, and now in turn i feel horrible for ever doubting what it means to be a soldier. I just finished a paper, and in it i pay tribute to all soldiers, i only wish that i could go back and time and think the soldiers when i should have. THANK YOU!!!
God Bless,
Amber
Hello Para man, This is so true, Soldier please, look after me, guard me keep me free, Thanks now go to hell. David.L. see my stuff on W.W.1, and 2. Keep writing, dont let the s.o.b's get you down.
I could not help, but to be touched by your words. And I can't help but to feel sad...for this is so true. My husband is is the USN and while he has not been in a "war"...he helps to protect our freedoms everyday. Those freedoms that so many...take for granted. Thank-you, for doing the same.
"War" Or the Interuption of Adventure, was once a piece I wrote many years ago in school. I still believe in these words. There is no excuse for the ignorance and cruelty towards the men & women who served their country to keep their children safe. There is much pain & anguish expressed here & one cannot help but be touched by your words. Thank you for submitting this piece. It was well done! Amy
