What have I done to you?

I see you falling further away
From the light
Since having been with me
And I can forecast
That your life is headed
Towards the pits of hell.

My heart breaks for you.

Did I hurt you that bad?

All this time
I have only seen
The pain you put me through.

How selfish I was!

For some reason,
You loved me at one time,
And I broke your trust in women.

Now you’re with someone
Who abuses you to no end,
Someone who uses you
Because their life has no purpose.

I know you wanted a girl
To make you her world,
But at what cost?

Now you’ve left
Your lifelong friends
In the dust.

I never see you smile
Anymore except
For that fake grin
Like a helpless puppy.

I feel for you
And wish I could help.

It’s no longer my place
So I bid you well
Even though
I know heartbreak
Is on your horizon.

And all I can do
Is thank you
For helping me
When you did.
