Meteor

Lessons Learned

My world was torn in half

When your meteor eyes

Crashed into its surface.

Your fiery vision meant to

Destroy me when you

Entered my atmosphere.

Your flight path aimed

For my heart and created

A crater in my confidence.

I love your use of metaphor in this, though a short poem it is, it is still effective. This poem never answers the obvious question- who is that person who wrecked your confidence? But it doesn't ruin the poem even if it ends on an evocative note. I did enjoying reading it and that's the important part. Never bore the reader. I wasn't bored. Thanks for posting a cool poem!
