Domestically Dysfunctional Dynamics

She was once a reporter from Wallstreet
And a lovely lady who fell for the wrong man;
The chemistry seemed to be nothing of deceit
Before he become one who depends on the beer can.

He was accomplished firefighter
Who lived in the infamous Brooklyn;
He met her at a Ground Zero all nighter
After she'd interviewed him, she was still looking.

Time passed to a sunrise in the dawn,
He finally approached her again;
The discourse off camera was rather fun
And they had planned a date at the end.

They cohabitted each other by vacation;
They made time to be together
Until one night became their biggest occasion,
He had proposed to live with her forever.

The numptials were extraordinarily great
And she became pregnant on the honeymoon;
They moved to Los Angeles for his job to compense
Him for his labor to support the family he'd have soon.

Eventually, she had quit her career
To raise four children, to cook, and to clean;
Each night, she would shed a silent tear,
Because she made a forfeiture for a domestic routine.

She saw life as if it was a trade for love,
But he didn't, he was deep into misery;
More money for the family was all he'd thought of
And obtaining it was his own little mystery.

His job had a union which reduced his pay
And he found himself drinking beer;
As he had gotten intoxicated each day,
He did it not in regret, but in fear.

One evening, she cooked him dinner;
He went home and he complained
Until he smited her to make her surrender
With apologies for making salty foods contained.

It didn't end there;
After she had apologized,
He showed how much he didn't care
And she saw it in his florid eyes.

He grabbed her from behind,
With his hands and arms around her waist;
He walked her slowy with one thing in mind
As they got to the bedroom from a half hour pace.

She was too weak when she tried
To fight him and screamed: No!
But he refused to listen when she cried
And told her to let it flow.

He locked the door;
Then, he smited her another time;
He ripped off all her clothes as he ignored
That what he was doing was a crime.

He undressed himself and proceeded
To rape his dearly loyal wife;
Even after, she had apologized and pleaded;
He didn't think about the rest of her life.

For years, it was to prolong
Until she told herself it was over
And told him it has be a so long
Unless he gets sober.

She took the children, money, and house;
The court settled in her favor for the divorce
And he was no longer her spouse;
The court was where they had their last discourse.

Domestic violence is not the way...
Please find the courage to speak up for yourself...
There is always someone to listen to what you say...
Wuth you, others shall be afraid to acquire help...
