I think and I write in voices. Many characters flow through my psyche as I commit ink to page. I’ve always subscribed to the Rimbaudien concept of “Je suis un autre.” Numerous voices exist within my written word. Multiple muses haunt, inspire, excite and antagonize me. That, of course, always leads to misunderstandings as the voice isn’t captured on the page. The inflection is lost in the sterilized printed word. The raised eyebrow and curled lips don’t find their way onto the page. The limitations of the printed or written word become apparent as the emotion and clarity is hidden in the plainness of the page.
