So I was just walking home. There is a wild turkey that lives on the apartment complex grounds. I see it strutting around a lot. I figure it must be pretty smart. I decided to call it Tom. Hanging out on the apartment estate minimizes competition for food. People, being the slobs they are, probably provide much sustenance.
Recently, I stopped seeing Tom for awhile. I was worried about its fate. On a walk with my dog, I noticed some feathers scattered about on the grass. I was worried my buddy might have stumbled into a bad scene.
I was heartened to see Tom again this evening. I decided to get out my phone to take a picture. I got my picture and then continued walking on my way. I heard sounds and realized that Tom was now following me. I stopped and turned around. Tom also stopped. I started to walk again but heard Tom trailing me again.
I did have a tuna fish sandwich in my backpack so maybe Tom wanted something to eat. Maybe Tom was unhappy I took a photograph and wanted me to delete the picture. The trailing continued for awhile. I was finally able to shake Tom and get back to my apartment. I felt embarrassed being intimidated by a turkey. Of course, when I saw the quality of the photo, I can’t blame Tom for wanting the photograph deleted.
