They lecture me not to waste my money on a seasonal shirt. You can only wear the Caribbean Santa shirt 5 weeks out of the year. But Santa playing a ukulele on the beach is an image I like year round. Surely we can observe Christmas in July. Surely we can extend the season to the Orthodox Christmas in July which would fall sometime in August. And like I always tell everyone about the shirt anyway. It isn’t really meant to be Santa Claus. The shirt is really an artist rendering of me at retirement age. I kind of can see myself enjoying the sands of Barbados wearing my Khaki shorts and Hawaiian shirt strumming on a ukulele when I’m 64 and only Beatles fans still love me.
