LOQUACIOUS BALDERDASH

She wore those 8 inch stilettos to raise her ass to the nth and I felt myself mesmerized by her strut.  The miniskirt left little to the imagination but I tried anyway.  She beckoned me follow her to the bar.  Apparently she wanted to save the $11 for a cocktail off my dime.

Okay with that, I approached timidly; eyes fixated on her heels.  I could barely muster a hello and proceeded to disengage her with my loquacious balderdash.  She smiled sweetly while stirring her cocktail.  The bartender is shooting me looks telling me that she’s way out of my league.

Of course, the bartender is always right—at least in affairs of the heart.  She takes a slow sip of her drink and thanks me with a gentle caress of the cheek.  I’m blushing at the cheeks but the rest of my body is comatose for a moment.  A simple blink of my eyes and I realize that I am standing at the bar alone.

The bartender snickers a little.  I still have my own beer which I now begin drinking in larger gulps.  I look for those 8 inch stiletto heels but they are long gone—a blissful, momentary fantasy with no chance for survival.

Loved it, just a real vulnerable moment and a real relateable feel... I could imagine the perspective easily.

thank you,  this was actually a prompt--the goal was to write a poem or flash fiction but using the words loquacious, balderdash and stiletto in the work.  This is pretty much what I came up with off the top of my head using those three words.
