for a bus to the river

as we sit and wait

we stand and wait

the buses roll along

the goal to arrive

at the water

the traffic lights turn

pedestrians patiently wait

avoid moving automobiles

We wait and wait

unending frustration

for the delays and snafus

ever plaguing urban life
