I walk my dog

carrying a pooper scooper

but truth be told

the pooper scooper is used

less for the dog’s droppings

than for unnecessary droppings

by two legged critters

and each day

we properly sort cans and bottles

into recycle bin

and waste into dumpster

and the dog just goes

along for the walk

doing his business

a few humanoids scoff

when he does his business

but if you count

Mother Nature as a mother

at least the dog

isn’t a motherfucker
