My worst fear

weren’t realized

and I was almost

disappointed

I hadda apply

for a passport renewal

and I had visions

of spending 3 or 4 hours

in a line

with Hondurans, East Indians

and Iranians

and moaning and groaning

that they really ought

have an express line

for real Americans like me

but instead it was

mostly wonder bread white folk

that were annoying to me

by virtue of having

a better in spot in line

but they looked too much like me

although I doubt too many of them

were really like me

but I feel deprived

that I was robbed

of my God given right

as an American

to moan and bitch

about stupid

and inconsequential thing

like waiting in a line

to apply for passport renewal
