I was always accused

of being too rough

when I played football

seems some guys

have an aversion

to being hit

they talk the talk

but when you get

right down to it

they can’t walk the walk

they don’t like

having their clock cleaned

by an animal like me

but I like

the rough stuff

bang it up; bang it out

rock ‘em, sock ‘em football

and I never minded

being hit either

if you can dish it out

you have to take it too

and that was fine with me

I liked hitting

and I liked getting hit

I take a good hit

and I’m like

“Thank you, sir,

May I have another?”

as strange as it may sound

getting knocked on your ass

is almost as cathartic

as knocking someone else on theirs

turns out

Nietzsche was right

all along
