WHITE LINES ON ASPHALT

PASSIVE RESISTANCE

 

 

White lines on the asphalt

form a blazing kaleidoscope

of mass confusion

as motorists and cyclists prey

on wary pedestrians

 

I watch them in their game

I can see the lines expand and glow

in the flickering moonlight

briefly obscured by passing clouds

but  then luminous again

 

 

Author's Notes/Comments: 

late 80's jotted on a memo pad from Roadway.  I never worked for them so I don't know how I got the memo pad.  I did find a dozen poems and random noted scatterered throughout their pages.

Cool find. I like the urban set, the mobile mosaic. Finally got Roadway spellt rigyt. :D
