STARING AT A DALI PAINTING, PERHAPS A WEE BIT TOO INTENSELY

The seconds hand once ticking

       has gone missing

as minutes and hours melt away

like a Barbie doll discarded

on a Death Valley roadway

a pocket watch offers no solace

as moments dissipate

like cannabis smoke

on a too cool October morn

as I glance back at past days and decades

unable to account for passing moments
