That girl seemed
to want to get
to know me
but I was busy
writing a poem
that wasn’t that good
anyway
and that
I will always hate
because
of the opportunity
it cost me
She was sweet
and now she’s gone
I cast dejected glances
at a few poorly written words
on a college ruled sheet
I coulda done better
no doubt about that
