tonight i own
the stars over state street
i will share them with you
on your trip to buffalo
they are yours to guide
the suv to your college town
to one of your drinking towns
where you can receive more
compassion that i am capable of
but i can give you the stars
that i own over my house
and i can give you this poem
with stars in the winter sky
that comes to you and
your radiant beauty
the beauty that lights me up
like all the stars in the night
