She was ticked off 

at me for my writing

I wrote half 

as many poems 

about her than

about my dog

(the cuteness factor is debatable)

Then she learned

I wrote more poems

about the Trestle Inn

than about her

and that really ticked her off

but in fairness to me

I do like the dog better

And I have known

the Trestle Inn longer

and truth be told

both the dog

and the Trestle Inn

have treated me far better.
