It drizzled in Brooklyn

in September

when I went to a beer festival

under the bridge

& the rain fell

in Greenwich Village

before I caught the 2 train

down into Brooklyn

& I wandered the streets

I felt the rain

It didn’t seem to matter

as drinking beer

under the Brooklyn Bridge

in rainy weather

just seemed like

the right thing to do

& my feet got wet

& I didn’t really care

I might’ve bought the bridge

if it were for sale

It drizzled in Brooklyn

but my spirit poured even more

and soared above the clouds

& let the moment live

of its own accord

It never occurred to me

It could be any other way
