Sitting at a beer festival
at the German Society of Pennsylvania
& staring across the street
at the Edgar Allan Poe house.
It’s an impressive,
albeit, empty building
and only footsteps
from the once fabled
Eraserhood neighborhood.
Pondering that
requires a refill
on my now empty glass.
