It always 

used to crack me up.

There was a bar

in Bristol Boro

located near Route 13 

that used to post a sign

out on Route 13:

“Last bar before the turnpike!”

I’d ride by 

and think “Wow”

It seemed to promote

a lot of faulty logic:

This is it!

Stop here for booze or else!

Better drink up and fuel up.

Once you’re on the turnpike

it’s too late.

I’d love to see

someone try that today.

They’d never get it through with 

all the political correctness.

The safety mothers of America

would probably torch the place.

Nobody is allowed

to post or say anything

the slightest bit off cuff 

in this day and age.
