The icy claws
Of a cold winter rain
Rasp against my face
The earth dwells
Slumbering beneath
A frosty winter sheet
The dark gray sky
Rolls overhead
Unleashing its cold, wet fury
Below, the earth's subjects shiver
Huddling beneath their blankets
Waiting for the winter rain to pass
