I have a mark
that won't go away
& it goes deep
it takes me back to that day
Realizing that even though
the wound is closed
the scar is still there
& that is what I wear
Take a plate and break it
watch it shatter
try to glue it back
but it will never flatter
it won't look like it once did
things will never be the same
even if you look at it in the dark
it's too late you've already left a mark
try to get it removed
but I can still feel the groove
so I'll have to wear it
even though it's hard to bear it
