Lingering Towards Nothing

Back and forth,
Swinging emotions,
Not of my accord,
But of yours.

Rollercoaster,
Tearing,
Shredding,
All that I am.

So I begin to,
Linger towards nothing.
Hate me a moment,
Love me again the next.

Demands for my joy,
For my smiles and laughs,
And then to strike me down,
In the next instance.

Is it all a game?
A fool trapped inside,
A box holding a toy,
Destructive play.

Lingering towards nothing,
It takes its toll each time,
You swing to hit,
Never miss.

Love me one moment,
Say you don't care the next,
Hug me, hold me,
And walk right past me.

Is it all just a game?
To see if I can be pushed,
Into oblivion,
Lingering towards nothing.

Welcome to my fears,
Of losing everything,
Welcome to my fear,
Of lingering into nothing.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I can't keep up the energy, if I'm pushed and pulled, all day, all night, lest I be torn into pieces.
