Unconditional love we take for granted

Folder:

tell me does it all seem so ordinary

is your love for him only temporary

is he just another thing stored in memory

tell me does it all seem just the same

and do you ever get the urge to call his name

or are you going through the motions to play the game

well won't you now grab yourself a shopping cart

and let him in so that he can now jump start

your hurting non believing doubtful heart

does it all seem like a story thats a fairy

do you think it's God's love you really carry

does God's love become to seem so ordinary

Taciturn Love's picture

the last line is a well composed piece of truth by itself. it was poignant in its message and it really hit me in the face.

God's love has indeed become a commodity to us. and to the world it has been devalued to nothing.

i also like the imagery of the shopping cart. which does show effectively and efficiently the easy availability of the recieving and the finding of God's love.

thank you. for this poem. for letting God's love shine through you. may we as Christians learn to love like Him and stop judging those around us, brothers or non brothers (= may we shine like Christ especially in these end times.

In His Love Always,
Cheryl

Hopefully someday God's love will seem and be ordinary to all or most of us anyway who choose to let the light shine in and embrace the truth and light and all the good waiting for us to share if we only let it in and don't close ourselves off from it...I know all about being taken for granted and taking things for granted and that does happen way too much at least that I am aware of personally...I think it is a universal truth that needs to be shared or make people think about more...thanks for sharing...Keep writing...Pam
