Before 2006 What is the dream?
the dream of us all?
we "all have" the american dream,
with a white picket fence,
and a nice house,
and a nice car.
but if we defer this dream,
like Mr. Hughes so wisely said,
those picket fences will turn into blades,
those cars will turn into tanks,
and those houses into forts.
our country is riddled with injustice,
and inequality,
like a target is riddled with arrows.
Those arrows have made our death beds.
just a matter of time until,
THUNK!
the sound of whistling wood,
and feathers,
from those who are oppressed.
