Swirls of grey keep my life subdued
When all of the colors of dark intrude

Painting pictures of memories that have long faded
Splintered and fragmented as my heart's soul is shaded

Remembering when red, yellow, green, and blue
Where the colors of life's supernal hues

All are but a fond remembrance in this abysmal dream
Hovering along the edges of lucidities felled seams

Each color was once so vibrant and true
Like sunlight glistening upon a new mornings dew

Yet my shadow is now the one that walks beside me anew
As I fall ever deeper within this midnight hue
