I remember putting foil on the windows
so the Grays couldn't call you away,
I remember leaving my bullets in the truck
and counting on luck that you didn't find one,
I remember all the reason that we were apart
and I remember why you still have a
sweet and dark corner in my heart.
I remember running into your sister
many years later and sharing our tears.
I still remember you, and wish I had known
the clue to your mystery.
wow I had to read it twice to
wow I had to read it twice to get it, I got to the end and felt jipped like I was missing something, then I read the fourth line again and it clicked....I love how subtle and yet obvious you can be all at once
