I can not personally explain America ,
So many places I have not been ,
But I can tell you about Louisiana ,
The boot in the Land of the Free,
We have swamps with beatiful Bald Cypress Trees,
With gators and snakes ,
Unforgetable sunsets on the lakes ,
Our cuisine is set apart from the rest ,
We boil seafood at it's best ,
The air filled with jazz throughout the streets ,
Mardi Gras has you dancing on your feet ,
New Orleans The city in which I stay ,
We are laid back folks in every which way ........

your Louisiana sounds so bello! so beautiful and unique. is it the only place in America that is like this? and what is the mardi gras that you say has people dancing? oh how I wish i could visit. this sounds like a beautiful place to live in. so comforting and peaceful

Mardi Gras is like Carnival
Mardi Gras is like Carnival in Rio , they throw beads and other things into large crowds , we drink , party , dance , it is a very fun festive time for New Orleans , we are in Carnival season now ..I have only been to a few places Tennesse is beatiful home of the smokey Mountains , they call it the smokies because of the fog and mist that lingers over it .. We do have alot of beauty here , Italy is where you are from ? i want to visit their one day ... I am trying to get others to write something for you from where they are from ..... so just wanting on replys for them to do so .. But ask me anything you would like to know and I will try my best to answer .. Louisiana is the only state that celebrates Mardi Gras big time anyways ...

Really? The Mardi Gras sounds like such fun! how long does this carnival last? and what is the carnival season? When did this tradition start in your Louisiana?

it dates back thousands of years
it is celebrated in Venice, Brazil and New Orleans , Louisiana .. It starts when Catholic Lent season begins and ends On FAT TUESDAY the day before Ash Wenesday ... It is alot of fun .. On fare una scampagnata, most places tend to be closed. So people are to go out and enjoy the day by having a picnic.

Holidays
i will be sure to e-mail you! really? it has not happened in my area of venice, but I do live on the outskirts of the city. Oh yes in Italy we have holidays, a favorite of my fiance's is fare una scampagnata which is like a picnic day in Italy. It marks the beginning of spring. Ognissanti which is all saints day we go to graves of loved ones and place flowers. Although I am one of the few christians I still do this tradition. This holiday is on November 1. On April 25, we celebrate our Festa della Liberazione. Our day of liberation it is an annual national holiday commemorating the 1945 liberation ending World War II in Italy. And us Italianos are famous for having four day weekend if a holiday is on a Tuesday or Thursday! These holidays are only a few. We have at least one or two in each month

What a fantastic idea!!!
So many of us never really think about where we live or about the pleasures and challenges of living there! How would we describe it to someone who's never been?
