Where Am I Now?

Walking through this lifetime

I can't even seem to open my eyes.

Oh I don't know what's coming,

but I see the truth through all the lies.

Everyday I'm fighting

a battle that I can't win.

I have to give it to you Lord

because I'm fighting my own sin.

When the days turn black,

and the nights become red

I have faith in you Lord

as I lie down to go to bed.

Even though I don't know how

you're always there for me.

Even when I'm so blind that I can't see...

Where am I now?

I started walking on this path

thinking it would be easy,

but I soon learned what you have

comes through the pain and the teasing.

And when the days turn black,

and the nights become red

I have faith in you Lord

as I lie down for bed.

Even when I know how

you're always there for me.

You made me something I thought I'd never be...

Where am I now?

...As I turn my head I see you,

and Satan hits me hard.

As I fall down to my knees

I look to see just where you are

only to see you beside me

healing my wounds

and protecting my heart...

When the days turn black,

and the nights become red

I have faith in you Lord

that I will triumph over death.

Even though I don't know how

you're always there with me.

Even when I'm so blind that I can't see...

Oh how can it be?!

Where am I now?

Author's Notes/Comments:

Something I have discovered since I accepted Christ into my life is that it is never easy...never.  The path to hell is well lit, wide, and clear, but the path to heaven is dark, narrow, and full of stumbling blocks.  However, when I find myself becoming to weak to fight I ask the Lord to forgive my sins and fight my battles for me, and not only does he do this, but he does it without hesitation because he died for my sins (and there are many) as much as everyone else's.
