In this time so many say

how ugly some things are.

I don't see the way they do

because I know it's beautiful today.



So many times we hear

of people doing wrong.

Stealing and fighting

cheating and hating

oh where do I belong?!



But I see you,

and you're beautiful as always.

Shining down on me

as you're standing in the sun.

Oh you're beautiful today.



I see this world today

in all it's ugliness

shrouded in the clouds of sin,

but I see you standing there

shining down like a ray of light.

You give me faith that we can win!



And I still see you,

you're beautiful as always.

You shine down on me

as I'm standing in the Son.

Oh you're beautiful today...



Then I think to myself

Why do I deserve this?

Why do you have this mercy on me?

All I do is cause you grief.

I should be left to die in the street,

but you did that for me!

I don't deserve your love oh Lord,

but now I'm glad that I believe

as I listen and percieve

that you're beautiful for me!



And now I see you,

You're beautiful as always,

and now I cry because you

shine down on me.

So I choose to stand in the Son...

To see that you're beautiful today.
