Tired

Oh, sometimes I am so tired

of this world full of liars.

But liars aren't the worst.

There are murderers, and adulterers too.

How many have to be hurt

before it comes down to me and you?

Lord, I am falling.

Won't you please show my true calling?

What am I to be in my life?

Will I ever have a love or a wife?

I don't want to be spat out, and left to die!

Won't you please just answer why?

Why am I here?

What will I do to change this place?

I don't think I can play it by ear,

because for me, I have to use the eyes on my face.

I don't try to do things wrong,

but I forget, and sin all day long.

I'm so tired Lord,

and I know I should rely on you.

I think I know what's wrong with this world

They're too blind to see you.

Sometimes I think

maybe I am too.

But I know you will catch me

when I fall to the ground.

Because I believe

that you're always around.

Lord I'm so tired

that I measure each days length.

But Lord I'm so very tired,

that I always need your strength

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this one about those times when, as a Christian, I get down in my faith.  I know that the Lord Jesus Christ will catch me, lift me up, and carry me again, but sometimes even I am too blind to see his true power...which is an undying, and unconditional love for us all.  I hope you all get something good from reading this one.  Thanks!!!

Chad

This is a great piece I totally know what you mean I have also sometimes asked God why I am here. He has lifted me up again and giving me the strenght to go on. This inspired me to go on again.God bless you always!

As in good form, I will critique this in thanks for your honest opinion.
I like how you explain that, even as a Christian, there are times of doubt. Sometimes, those of the christian faith believe they are not meant to doubt, even once, or they will go to hell.
I choose not to believe that, not because I'm not Christian, but because I believe whatever god is out there, whether it's the one God or many, knew and meant us to be imperfect and fallible.
If we were perfect, what need would we have for spiritual guidance? Why would we attend mass or go on personal journeys into ourselves?
I believe that, along with imperfection, we are also meant to question that which is told to us. I don't believe hell is for anyone but sinners, for we all have the opportunity to repent for our sins, and pray for forgiveness. it's if we choose not to use the tools given to us that I believe we will experience the wrath of whichever god or gods we may believe in.

I appreciate your poetry, but understand, poetry does not have to rhyme. It's considered prose if it doesn't. Poetry in and of itself is a personal reflection on onesself and ones surroundings. As it is, you've done very well in illustrating your weaknesses, and in doing so, confirming your strength of will and faith.

I may not follow the christian faith, but I will say god bless, for I believe those words to be nondenominational.

God bless, Chad. Continue your wonderful writing and I'll continue my somewhat tortured musings. ;)
